    Arunas Valiulis initiated the First Baltic Paediatric Congress (BPC) in 2011 and was the President of 1st and 4th Baltic Paediatric Congresses together with Annual Conferences of European Academy of Paediatrics (EAP/UEMS-SP) and European Confederation of Primary Care Paediatricians (Vilnius, 2011 & 2019), He is full Professor of Clinic of Children’s Diseases of Institute of Clinical Medicine since 2002 and Research Professor of Institute of Health Sciences of Vilnius University Faculty of Medicine, President of Labour Council of Vilnius University, Head of Clinic of Asthma, Allergy and Chronic Lung Diseases, Chairman of Mother and Child Commission of Lithuanian Academy of Sciences, Founder and President of Lithuanian Paediatric Respiratory Society (since 1998), President of Vilnius Paediatric Society, Vice-President of Lithuanian Paediatric Society (President 2005-2015), Founder and Chairman of Executive Committee of IPOKRaTES Lithuanian Fund (since 1994), Founder and CEO of Vilnius International Paediatric Pulmonology and Allergology School (since 1996), Editor-in-Chief of Lithuanian National Evidence-Based Guidelines in Paediatric Pulmonology (Bronchial Asthma, Allergic Rhinitis, Community-Acquired Pneumonia, Cystic Fibrosis, Tuberculosis), Founder and Editor-in-Chief of the Scientific Journal “Paediatric Pulmonology and Allergology” (since 1998), Chairman of the Independent Experts’ Council of Commission of Immunoprophylaxis (NITAG) of Lithuanian Ministry of Health, National Delegate of Lithuania in EAP/UEMS-SP (Executive Committee Member and Treasurer 2012-2022), Chairman of Lithuanian – Ukrainian Public Council of Reforms in Medicine. In 2020, he established the Human Ecology Multidisciplinary Research Group and led air pollution and child health research at Vilnius University. His H index is 30 (Research Gate 50). As visiting professor he conducted short-term training courses in Richmond Children’s Hospital at Virginia University, Richmond, USA, Wake Forest Pulmonologic Center in Winston Salem, USA, Chapel Hill Pulmonologic Center of University of North Carolina, USA, Miami University Miller School of Medicine & Holtz Children’s Hospital, Miami, USA, Tampere University Children’s Hospital, Finland. He was Chairman of the Organising and/or Scientific Committees for more than 50 international conferences, and was elected as Honorary Professor of Poltava State Medical University (Ukraine), Honorary Member of the Estonian Paediatric Society, and  Honorary Fellow of the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health (UK).
